Since 2011, we have supported the (human) youth in Doreen, Mernda, and surrounds.
Adventurous Outdoor Programming
Joeys
Joey Scouts is where it all begins, starting from ages 5 to 8. Joeys start to learn about Scouting from the word go, including hiking and camping. All activities are optional however, and we encourage parents to participate whenever possible.
Cubs
Cubs are naturally a bit more adventurous, because that comes with the territory for 8 to 11 year olds. Our new program means that Joeys isn’t just arts and crafts anymore, so in Cubs they can get a bit more serious about their adventurous escapades.
Scouts
Where it all originally began. Ages 11 to 15, Scouts are busy learning their limits in more serious hikes and camps, including the annual Jamboree, for 10 nights, held once every three years.
Venturers
Venturers is where solid friendships are made for life. 15 to 18 year olds spend time together doing all the fun stuff they’ve learned and enjoyed, but with less adult input. In Venturers they govern themselves, with minimal input from the leaders acting only as mentors and ensuring safety of course!
Adults in Scouting
Scouting isn’t just for kids! Making new friends, learning new skills, and going on adventures all while making a difference for the youth in our community - come join in on the fun!
Support Us
Doreen Scout Group is a non-profit organisation that relies 100% on our own income. Our income comes from 4 sources: membership fees, fundraising (like sausage sizzles, Christmas tree sales, etc.), grants (few and far between), and donations.
